Golden West Tops State in Female Execs

Golden West Financial Corp. has the highest percentage of top-paid women executives and directors among California’s largest publicly traded companies.

Golden West, the Oakland-based holding company for World Savings Bank, has seven women in 14 boardroom and executive jobs, according to researchers at UC Davis.

The researchers examined California’s 200 largest public companies and found that women held only 10% of the businesses’ director seats and highest-paid executive positions.
