Reporter Held After Trying for Palace Job
A reporter with the British tabloid Daily Mirror was arrested at Buckingham Palace after applying for a job there, the newspaper said Wednesday.
It said the reporter, who was detained Friday, had been engaged in “a legitimate journalistic enterprise.”
Buckingham Palace refused to comment, saying it was a matter for the police.
Police said a 25-year-old man had been arrested after checks revealed false details in his job application. He was released on bail and ordered to return to a London police station in March.
Last month, a News of the World reporter was arrested after trying to get a housekeeping job at the palace.
