Andreas Katsulas, 59; Had Roles on ‘Babylon 5' and in ‘The Fugitive’ Film

Andreas Katsulas, 59, a character actor best known for his role as G’Kar on the syndicated television series “Babylon 5" and for playing the one-armed man in the 1993 film version of “The Fugitive,” died of lung cancer Feb. 13 at his home in Los Angeles.

A native of St. Louis, Katsulas performed in community stage productions as a child and studied theater at St. Louis University. He earned a master’s degree in theater at Indiana University.

His film roles included “Someone to Watch Over Me” (1987), “The Sicilian” (1987), “Sunset” (1988) and “Executive Decision” (1996).

On television, he was in several episodes of the syndicated series “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”


To play G’Kar, he endured about two hours in the makeup chair each day. For his role as Frederick Sykes in “The Fugitive,” a prosthetic device was created to turn him into a one-armed man.
