Soldier Sentenced in Plot to Kill Lover’s Spouse

An Army sergeant was sentenced to 12 years and six months in federal prison for attempting to kill the husband of his girlfriend.
Jason Wayne Cline, 27, pleaded guilty to trying to kill Petty Officer 2nd Class John J. Ball at North Island Naval Air Station.
Ball’s wife, Sharonmarie Ball, 29, has pleaded guilty to the same charge and will be sentenced March 6.
The two, who had met over the Internet, lured Ball’s husband to an isolated part of the base and tried to kill him with a knife.
