Fire Reportedly Kills 13 Disabled Children
From Times Wire Reports
A fire swept through a home for disabled children in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, killing 13 of them before firefighters arrived, witnesses said.
Distraught neighbors said they pulled dozens of children from the burning building as they waited for help.
The fire, which gutted the single-story wood-and-brick structure built in 1934, may have been caused by an electrical overload from heaters, officials said.
