An explosion ripped through Finland’s most valuable silver and jewelry collection on Monday, but no one was hurt in the blast at the national museum, police and fire officials said.

“At this stage we do not know the cause of the explosion. Nothing indicates a crime, but it cannot be ruled out,” said Superintendent Jere Roimu of the Helsinki police.

The museum was closed to the public on Monday, but staff were in the building at the time of the blast, a fire officer said. “It caused a lot of damage, to partitions and display cases, but no one was hurt,” he said.
