Crushes go deeper

RE “The Truth? It’s a Point of View,” by Robin Abcarian, June 30: I find it a great stretch to claim that Rosie O’Donnell lied about a “deep crush” on Tom Cruise, simply because of her sexual orientation.

As a gay man myself, I have had many crushes over the years on people of both sexes. Crushes are not merely about sex; they are deeper. What engulfs us into interest or obsession is a person’s aura, their whole being.

Rosie loved Tom because of a myriad of things, and to say she lied about that admiration because she never wanted to bed him is just as catty as “The View” feud itself.
