That wit Wilder

MY father, the late art dealer Saemy Rosenberg of Rosenberg & Stiebel, went to school with Billy Wilder in Berlin [“Playing by His Rules,” June 18]. When I asked him what he could remember about Wilder, he paused and smiled.

“Billy,” he said, “liked to stand on his head next to his desk and make us all laugh.”
