From Bloomberg News

CVS Corp., the second-biggest U.S. drugstore chain, agreed to buy MinuteClinic to enter the growing market for walk-in healthcare services.

MinuteClinic has 83 drop-in offices in 10 states, 66 of which are in CVS stores. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, CVS said.

MinuteClinic was founded in May 2000 and is staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who treat illnesses such as strep throat and ear infections and provide common vaccinations. CVS rival Walgreen Co. plans to start offering walk-in healthcare services next week.
