Credit Card Firms to Settle Currency Fee Suit

Several major credit card issuers and companies agreed to pay $336 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing them of charging excessive currency conversion fees, lawyers for the plaintiffs said.

The plaintiffs said Visa, MasterCard Inc. and Citigroup Inc.’s Diners Club violated disclosure and antitrust laws when customers made transactions denominated in foreign currencies, or with foreign companies.
