Six Killed as Floods Wash Away Barracks
Flood waters rushing down a mountain in south China washed away a military barracks, leaving six dead and an additional 38 people missing, the official New China News Agency said.
The torrent was triggered in Jiangxi province, where Tropical Storm Kaemi brought heavy rains and winds, the agency said.
Chinese President Hu Jintao, also head of the Central Military Commission, ordered “prompt and all-out efforts” to search for the missing, the report said.
