DaimlerChrysler Weighs Going Small in U.S.

DaimlerChrysler is near a decision on whether to launch its ultra-compact Smart car in the United States, the company’s chief executive said.

“We’ll make a decision on the issue in June,” Dieter Zetsche said. The German-American automaker has said that it thinks it could sell at least 20,000 of its tiny Smart ForTwo models annually in the U.S.
