30-Year Mortgage Rates Increase to 6.67%

Rates on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.67% this week, up from 6.62% last week and the highest since the week ended June 13, 2002, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.

Rates on one-year adjustable- rate mortgages were also up, rising to 5.68% from 5.61%. Rates on 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages rose to 6.26% from 6.23%. Rates on five-year adjustable-rate mortgages climbed to 6.26% from 6.21%.

These rates do not include add-on fees known as points. The 30-year and 15-year mortgages carried a nationwide average fee of 0.4 point. The one-year ARM had an average fee of 0.7 point. The five-year ARM carried an average fee of 0.5 point.
