American Oil Worker Among 8 Abductees

Eight foreign workers, including an American, were kidnapped from a drilling rig off Nigeria’s oil-rich southern delta. The kidnappers offered to negotiate the release of the hostages, who also include six Britons and a Canadian, said the company that operates the rig.
Sheena Wallace, a spokeswoman for Aberdeen, Scotland-based Dolphin Drilling, said she did not have the names of the missing crewmen or information about demands or what group was behind the kidnapping.
