Neighborhood Unites for Slain Family

An Indianapolis neighborhood united on the street for song and prayer outside the home where seven family members were killed in the city’s worst mass killing in at least 25 years. Relatives said they were touched by the support. Emma Valdez, 46, and Alberto Covarrubias, 56, their two young children, Valdez’s adult son and daughter, and Valdez’s 5-year-old grandson were shot Thursday in a robbery.
