Security concerns end Getty concert

Share

A performance by the Paris Piano Trio at the Getty Center came to a premature end Thursday evening when the Harold M. Williams Auditorium was evacuated shortly after the concert began.

According to a statement issued Friday by the Getty, “After receiving a threat yesterday, the security team informed local law enforcement authorities and initiated standard procedures for resolving this type of situation. When an unidentified package was found last evening, which apparently was simply misplaced, the police department asked that the site be evacuated. The evacuation took place about 8:30 p.m., guests attending a concert left in an orderly manner, and the all clear was given at 10:15 p.m.”

The Getty was unable to reschedule the concert and will offer refunds to the audience.
