From Times Wires Reports

An arbitrator has ruled in favor of a 21.8% raise for Las Vegas police officers over the next four years.

The increase is lower than union demands but still represents the largest increase Clark County has awarded to a labor group, said county manager Thom Reilly.

The arbitrator considered proposals from the Las Vegas Police Protective Assn., which represents 2,600 police and corrections officers, and the county and Las Vegas city governments. The union requested a 26.5% pay increase.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said officer pay was justified. “They’re priceless. I really believe that,” he said.
