From Times Wire Reports

Severe storms across the Midwest knocked over small airplanes, ripped roofs off homes and spawned tornadoes. At least three people died.

Tornadoes touched down in Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois.

Storms rolled through northeastern Kansas with winds that lifted a cargo container off the airfield at the Kansas City International Airport. At the city’s downtown airport, private airplanes were “spun around,” spokesman Joe McBride said.

The University of Kansas canceled classes today after 60% of its buildings were damaged by a storm.
