Microsoft to Invest in Sales, Marketing Effort

Microsoft Corp. plans to spend $500 million on a new ad campaign and sales strategy to help win corporate customers from IBM Corp.

The funds, to be spent in the next year, will focus sales and marketing efforts on areas including customer management and mobile computing, Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer said. The company will use the slogan “people-ready” to sell the business software.
