15 Killed in Gunfight Between Police, Taliban

Four police officers and 11 Taliban militants were killed in a gun battle in a village in Kandahar province in the south.
Police surrounded the village in the Panjwayi district after receiving a tip that Taliban militants were there, said Dawood Ahmadi, spokesman for the governor of Kandahar.
Meanwhile, two bombs exploded in northern Afghanistan near a vehicle belonging to NATO forces, injuring nine.
