Officer Faces More Charges in Sex Cases
Additional charges have been filed against a police officer accused of forcing women he detained to disrobe or perform sex acts to avoid arrest.
William Robert Taylor, 26, pleaded not guilty Thursday to new charges of rape with a foreign object, sexual battery and petty theft.
He is accused of sexually harassing or abusing eight women he detained for a variety of minor crimes.
He faces a maximum penalty of 18 years in prison if convicted of all charges, prosecutors said.
Taylor, who was placed on unpaid leave after his arrest in February, is free on $250,000 bail.
