A pattern emerges

Skyscraper living in ... Sacramento? The Daniel Libeskind-designed Aura, a 38-story, 265-unit condo tower near the state Capitol, is scheduled to break ground next month, says Michelle DiLello, a spokeswoman for developer BCN Development. Libeskind’s plan, left, calls for a blue-gray glass facade with giant arcs formed by breaks in the building’s balcony pattern. Units are priced from $386,000 to $1.24 million. Aura is just the start for Sacramento: Other residential towers -- two rising at least 50 stories -- also are being developed in the same neighborhood.
