The Supreme Court upheld Congolese President Joseph Kabila’s victory in landmark elections, ruling that the runner-up’s charges of widespread fraud were unfounded.

Kabila won the Oct. 29 runoff in the Democratic Republic of Congo with 58% of the votes, compared with about 42% for former rebel leader Jean-Pierre Bemba, the court confirmed.
