Ship Runs Aground; 13 Washed Overboard

Thirteen people were washed into the sea after a freighter caught fire and ran aground in stormy weather off eastern Japan, officials said.
One man was found washed ashore and later died, a Coast Guard official said. Three were rescued and nine remained missing, he said.
Another 13 crew members were still aboard the Panamanian-registered Giant Step, which had almost broken in two.
