Finally, She Stood Up to Dad

How touching it was to read Cheryl Kellogg Phillips’ story about her father, actor John Kellogg (“The Untouchable,” Sept. 17). How little we adults think about the effect of our actions on small children. We seem to think that they are dolls, and we can go away for 10 years and they will be waiting happily for us.

Phillips had the courage to speak up. She asked the right questions. The tough guy was disarmed.
