From Times Wire Reports

A Vietnam War veteran and handyman who tried to challenge the state’s lethal injection statutes was executed for a woman’s 1985 death in her Florida home.

Arthur Rutherford, 57, was executed after the U.S. Supreme Court denied his challenges over the state’s lethal injection procedure and other issues. In January, the court stopped his execution minutes before he was to be killed.

Rutherford was sentenced in the killing of Stella Salamon, 63, whose body was found in the bathtub of her Panhandle home.
