Taipei Protest Calls on the President to Resign

Tens of thousands of red-clad protesters thronged downtown Taipei demanding that Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian resign over a series of alleged corruption scandals involving his family and inner circle.
With the color of their clothing symbolizing their anger, the protesters shouted and gave the “thumbs down” gesture, emblematic of their feeling that Chen should quit.
