A Mexican national was sentenced Friday to three years in federal prison after admitting he made hoax phone calls claiming to have smuggled a nuclear warhead into the U.S. at Calexico.

Jose Ernesto Beltran-Quinonez probably will be deported when his sentence is finished, officials said. He admitted making emergency calls in El Centro claiming to have smuggled Chinese and Iraqi immigrants into the U.S. as well as the warhead.

The caller said the Chinese planned to help assemble the warhead in Boston, officials said.
