Julian Ludwig, 82; TV, movie producer worked with Eastwood, Wolper

Julian Ludwig, 82, a television and film producer who worked with David L. Wolper and Clint Eastwood, died of lung cancer April 13 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

A native of L.A. who studied business at UCLA, Ludwig started his career as an actor, appearing in “Limelight,” a 1952 movie directed by Charlie Chaplin and starring Chaplin and Buster Keaton, and “Gog,” a 1954 science-fiction film.

Ludwig shifted his focus to production and joined Wolper’s organization, working as a producer on the 1960s television series “Biography” and “Hollywood and the Stars,” among others.

In film, he was an associate producer on Wolper’s “The Devil’s Brigade” (1968) and “The Bridge at Remagen” (1969) as well as Eastwood’s “Unforgiven” (1992).
