11 people killed in multiple bombings
At least 11 people were killed and 10 wounded in a suicide blast and bomb explosions in Afghanistan, officials said.
Two of the blasts, including the suicide bombing, occurred within yards of each other in a crowded market in the heart of the southeastern town of Khowst, the scene of a series of Taliban attacks in recent weeks. Seven people died in the attack.
In the eastern province of Laghman, a roadside bomb killed four security officials in a car, police said.
Violence has been rising in Afghanistan after a winter lull. Last year was the bloodiest since the Taliban were ousted in 2001.
