‘Blades’ doesn’t glorify gay ideal

Share

REGARDING the article “Of Ice and Men” [March 25] -- I have never read anything so foolish. I’m gay and I don’t know any effeminate men. The whole point of being gay is manliness.

The greatest warrior of all time was gay -- Alexander the Great. When his lover got sick and died, his grief was undeniable. Caesar went to Bithynia at an early age and was reputed to have fallen in love with King Nicomedes.

Does a straight man like women with tattoos and muscles? We like men, so we want muscles and strength.

Being effete will not bring men together sexually -- I can guarantee that. No one stands alone in a gay bar more than an effeminate man. So I have no desire to see “Blades of Glory.” Why would I enjoy seeing men acting like women?

The humor in “Blades of Glory” is just a cheap way to get laughs -- like pies in the face. It should do well in the more backward parts of the Midwest.
