Nature provides a clothes dryer

Share

Among the design features of an environmentally friendly house depicted in “Living green, by design” (Your Money, July 29) was a clothes drying rack inside the house. You should have included as well the old-fashioned but extremely efficient outdoor clothesline. The sun is still our cheapest and healthiest form of power for drying laundry, a fact celebrated in Australia with cleverly designed clotheslines that take up much less space than conventional long lines. We should be promoting this form of drying in California too.
