Bombings, battles kill 41
Bombings and gun battles killed 41 people and wounded at least six, including two foreigners and four Afghans injured when a suicide car bomber rammed two four-wheel-drive vehicles near Kabul, the capital. An Interior Ministry spokesman said he did not know their nationalities.
In Kandahar province in the south, insurgents killed eight policemen on a patrol, a roadside bomb killed two Afghans guarding a convoy carrying supplies for NATO-led forces, and Afghan soldiers killed two insurgents planting a roadside bomb.
