Sprint may spin off wireless service

Sprint Nextel Corp., the third-biggest U.S. mobile-phone carrier, may spin off its planned high-speed wireless service and seek investors to reduce the costs of building the network.
Sprint would buy high-speed service from the new company and resell it, acting Chief Executive Paul Saleh said at an investor conference in New York.
The Reston, Va., firm has a group studying the idea, he said.
