Guess earnings beat forecasts

Clothing maker Guess Inc. reported third-quarter earnings that rose more than analysts estimated and boosted its annual profit forecast.
Net income increased 32% to $58.3 million, or 62 cents a share, from $44 million, or 48 cents, a year earlier, Los Angeles-based Guess said. Analysts had expected the company to earn a profit of 58 cents, according to a Bloomberg survey. Sales jumped 43% to $469.1 million, which also beat the $427.8 million projected by analysts.
