Attack on police kills 5 civilians
A rocket landed in a crowd of civilians near Kabul’s police headquarters today, and a truck full of rockets exploded nearby moments later, an official said. Five people were killed.
The truck contained five 107-millimeter rockets rigged to explode, but only two did so, said Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, a Defense Ministry spokesman.
The rocket had been fired moments earlier toward the police station, but landed in a crowd of civilians, said Najib Nekzad, a press officer for the Interior Ministry.
He said five civilians were killed and five wounded.
