Man gets life term in 2005 murder

A man convicted of first-degree murder for the 2005 slaying of Antar Bey, then the head of Your Black Muslim Bakery, will spend the rest of his life in prison for the crime.
Alfonza Phillips III was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole. Phillips shot Bey at an Oakland gas station while trying to steal the expensive rims on Bey’s car.
