GM said near sale of unit to Navistar

General Motors Corp. is nearing an agreement to sell a medium-duty truck unit to Navistar International Corp., people familiar with the deal said.
Navistar, the fourth-biggest truck maker, said in October that it was negotiating to buy the unit, which Bear, Stearns & Co. analysts value at $500 million.
