President Bush brought his extended family together for a Christmas celebration at Camp David, with gift exchanges and a traditional holiday feast.
Gathered at the compound in the Catoctin Mountains northwest of Washington were the first couple’s twins, Barbara and Jenna; the first lady’s mother, Jenna Welch; the president’s sister, Doro Bush Koch, and her family; and the president’s brother, Marvin, and his family.
The president gave his wife a silver tray and a purse; she gave him a coat and warming soles for mountain biking, said Sally McDonough, the first lady’s press secretary. The Bushes gave their daughters household items, McDonough said.
