From Times Wire Reports

Thousands of protesters fought riot police in Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital, throwing stones, bricks and homemade bombs as a blockade intended to delay Jan. 22 elections stretched into a third day, witnesses and reports said.

Police used truncheons and fired rubber bullets and tear gas at protesters who tried to overrun barbed-wire barricades erected around the downtown presidential palace.
