Bonaduce draws listener static

Re “American genius, spoiled,” Opinion, Jan. 13

I stopped listening to Adam Carolla and was only recently compelled to try him again because of Danny Bonaduce. Regardless of Bonaduce’s past, he has not distinguished himself by feebly attempting humor at the expense of Jews. Carolla does not limit himself to negatives about Jews. He also has hurled so much at the Chinese community. Let’s not be so quick to criticize Bonaduce.

I also was disappointed with the addition of Bonaduce to Carolla’s show. Until then, I listened to the show with my 13-year-old son. Although some subjects were a little advanced for him, Carolla’s common-sense look at the hypocrisy of our politics, class system and life in general gave us things to talk about. I probably am not the demographic the show is trying to reach, as I am 53 and listen to National Public Radio, but I do believe that Carolla is an American genius.

Daum has written what legions of Carolla devotees are saying: Boot Bonaduce! Life is short and our time exposed to smart folk with golden tongues much too rare. What were the suits thinking?
