No Westerners killed in attack
No U.S. or NATO troops were injured when a suicide bomber killed as many as 10 people outside a U.S. military base in eastern Afghanistan, officials said.
The suicide bomber struck as hundreds of Afghan workers lined up to enter Camp Salerno outside the city of Khowst, said provincial Gov. Jamal Arsalah.
Ten men were killed and 14 wounded, Arsalah said, although the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-led force, which includes the U.S. base, said eight Afghans were killed and five wounded. It was unclear why the tallies differed.
