Terrorists will not undermine Britain
Re “Britain on alert after airport is hit,” July 1
Britain in recent days has suffered one terror attack on Glasgow Airport and foiled two attempted attacks in London’s West End. Do the cowards who promulgated these actions really believe that this will have an effect on British policy or public opinion?
Looking at the last 450 years, Britain has faced far larger enemies with significantly greater resources and has defeated every one, from four wars against Louis XIV between the 1660s and 1715, to the defeat of Hitler’s attempt at European domination from 1939 to 1945, and, with its NATO allies, defeat of the Soviet Union’s Cold War policy of domination from 1947 to 1990. Do these pathetic, faceless cowards think they are the equal to any of these who never bowed Britain to their will?
