A tower under construction in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates’ trade hub, is now the tallest building in the world, measuring 1,680 feet, its developer said.
Burj Dubai is now taller than Taipei 101 in Taiwan, which had been the tallest since it opened in 2004, Emaar Properties said. Taipei 101 is 1,667 feet.
The Dubai tower “has now reached 141 stories, more stories than any other building in the world,” the developer said. Emaar did not say how tall the finished building would be.
