From Times Wire Reports

Self-exiled Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky will be tried in absentia in Moscow and could get a sentence of up to 10 years if found guilty of theft from Aeroflot, Russian prosecutors said.

Berezovsky is a vocal critic of President Vladimir V. Putin and has been granted political asylum by Britain. London has rejected requests to extradite him.

Berezovsky’s lawyers said the case alleging theft of $8.28 million in company funds was a sham.
