Dennis Miller will try radio
Comedian Dennis Miller, who has hosted a couple of talk shows on television, will introduce his first radio show next week on more than 80 stations nationwide, including news talk station KRLA-AM (870) in Los Angeles.
“The Dennis Miller Show,” which begins broadcasting from New York City on Monday, will be heard locally weekdays from 6 to 9 p.m., KRLA Program Director Craig Edwards said Tuesday. The show will cover the day’s news topics and offer Miller’s satirical touch, with 2008 presidential candidate Rudolph W. Giuliani and comedian Dana Carvey as the inaugural guests. Miller, a political conservative, will also take calls from listeners.
To make room for Miller, KRLA will move “The Savage Nation” to the 9-11 p.m. slot.
Miller rose to fame as the Weekend Update anchor on “Saturday Night Live,” then went on to host “Dennis Miller Live” on HBO and “Dennis Miller” on CNBC. He also was a commentator on “Monday Night Football” for one season.
After the first week in New York, Miller will originate the show from Santa Barbara, where he lives.
