Soda firm to eliminate lead from bottle labels

Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Inc. has agreed to eliminate labels containing lead from its bottled Squirt and Crush beverages imported from Mexico, City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo said. The agreement, which also calls for the soda maker to pay $600,000 in penalties, settles allegations that the firm violated state law by failing to warn consumers of lead content in bottle labels.
