THQ Inc. reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $6.5 million on sales of games for personal computers and said results this period would miss analysts’ estimates. Net income of 9 cents a share compared with a loss of $8.65 million, or 14 cents, a year earlier, the Agoura Hills company said. Sales rose 16% to $172.1 million.

Shares of THQ fell $1.39 to $33.30 in extended trading after falling 8 cents to $34.69. THQ forecast a fiscal first-quarter loss of 26 cents excluding stock-based pay, on sales of $110 million.

Live Nation Inc., the largest U.S. concert promoter, posted a loss of $45 million in the first quarter after the company lost money on “Phantom -- The Vegas Spectacular.” The net loss of 69 cents a share compared with profit of $1.12 million, or 2 cents, a year earlier, the Beverly Hills company said. Sales rose 13% to $584.2 million, missing the $603.4-million average estimate of analysts compiled by Bloomberg.

Gourmet pizza chain California Pizza Kitchen Inc. said first-quarter profit dropped 22% as labor and food costs rose. Net income fell to $3.6 million, or 18 cents a share, from $4.6 million, or 23 cents, a year earlier. Revenue grew 15% to $149.4 million.
