Time to face the facts

“Yellow Face,” David Henry Hwang’s satire about race and identity in America, begins with backstage revelations of Hwang’s 1993 Broadway failure, “Face Value,” about a fracas that erupts when a white actor is cast as an Asian character. In Hwang’s fictionalized account, the playwright is thrust in the middle of familial politics and international intrigue as artists, journalists and Senate investigators weigh in. It’s a world premiere co-production of Center Theatre Group and the Public Theater in association with East West Players.
