Ex-L.A. official to run housing fund

Former Los Angeles Planning Director Con Howe has been appointed managing director of a new real estate investment fund intended to create more low-cost housing in the region.

Howe is in charge of CityView Los Angeles Fund, which has more than $100 million to finance, assemble and entitle land for the development of market-rate “workforce” housing, according to CityView.

The venture is funded by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions and the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System.
